Remember: While you’re traveling or eating out, it is important to keep your goals in the forefront of your mind. This is a lifestyle, and each new experience that challenges you with figuring out how to keep your momentum despite ‘obstacles’ is a chance to learn and grow! Take advantage of the opportunity!
PLAN IN ADVANCE
Account for what a day of eating may look like ahead of time so you don’t make impulsive decisions you regret later.
- How long between meals?
- What will I have access to?
- Quick meals or is time on my side?
- Should I pack a healthy snack (or two) to avoid temptations or “boredom” eating?
Choose a mix of foods that you are able to bring yourself, as well as some you may be eyeballing while out to eat or in a social setting.
ASK YOUR HOTEL FOR A REFRIGERATOR
They are on site as they must provide for guests with a medication that requires refrigeration. There could be extras available. This way you can keep leftovers in there, or go to a local grocery store and grab some fresh fruits, vegetables or calorie free beverages.
INVEST IN A SMALL GEORGE FOREMAN
If you really want to avoid costs / eating out, this is a great option. With a George Foreman and a hotel mini fridge, you can essentially make fresh proteins on demand! You can cook eggs, chicken, fish, you name it! Get creative!
